Linked Athletics is...

Linked Athletics is...

This is a running blog, a journal of sorts. While Linked Athletics remains true to its core principles, the way in which we express ourselves, our programs, marketing and terminology are every evolving. It has been said many times by many people, including the people I consider mentors, as well as those I consider competitors: “Everything I know is wrong and given enough time, history will prove this to be true.” This parable is what keeps Brain and I ever-learners.

2/3/14
For the last 2+ years, we have presented Linked Athletics as cutting edge, scientific and world class performance training. All of this remains to be true. What has changed the quickest and the most is our target audience. We realized that our training was adaptable enough for the every-man/woman. Let me be clear: YES! I am saying that our program is developed in such a way that we can train world class elite athletes, and in the same breath train the "average joe/jane."

It is not unreasonable to assume that elite athletes are among the fittest people in the world. Before I go further, I want to make a distinction: A person can be fit without being truly healthy, but a healthy person is fit. In my experience, world class athletes are both fit and healthy, a.k.a. healthy. Whereas there are many elite athletes, more than anyone would like to admit, that are fit but not healthy. This, of coarse, would be a Linked Lifestyle blog addressing the 5 components of lifestyle (Training, Diet, Recovery, Adaptability, Nervous System Health), so I will not delve further into that here. However, elite athletes, fit and unhealthy, are healthier than the average American.

So where am I going with this? Let me tie it all back together. Seeing as how athletes are generally fitter and healthier that the average people, it stands to reason that if we adopt a proper training regiment, as well as make positive changes to our decision making strategies (Linked Lifestyle), we can achieve greater health. Basically, if we live more like our athletic counterparts, we will be healthier.

Linked Athletics is establishing itself as a cutting edge, scientific and world class performance training method, AND a life-changing-become-a-stronger-healthier-you health center. This is the very thing in which every fitness program is striving, at least, that is what I hope.

As new programs take form, as new marketing develops and terminology evolves, I will update this blog with entries.

As always, thank you for reading,
